Tasty Tuesdays- Potatoes and Ham A gratin

3 C. milk
3 T. Corn Starch
3 T. Margarine or Butter (soft)
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
Velveeta or other cheese (my mom always uses Velveeta but I have used other cheeses too.)
Potatoes (I use about 4 large potatoes)
leftover ham slices (the amount depends on how much meat you want in your dish. You can do tons, or my sister even does it completely meatless.)

Peel and cook your potatoes. Cut them up into slice and layer into a dish with your leftover ham that you have sliced. You can also use the prepackaged ham cubes, if you don't make a full ham that often.

Combine the other ingredients into a sauce. I like to whisk them all together. Add as much or as little cheese as you want. Pour the sauce over the dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly.

This recipe makes a medium size casserole. To make a large casserole, use 6 or 7 large potatoes. and Use 5 cups of milk, 5 T. cornstarch and 5 T. softened butter. Adjust the rest of the ingredients to your taste.
