Tropical Storm Hermine is over as fast as it formed.

I still can't believe how hard and fast Tropical Storm Hermine hit us. It was like one second, everything was bright and sunny and then Hermine formed out of nowhere. Even though Hermine was a tropical storm and not a hurricane, like Alex. This one made a bigger impact on the valley than the last one. I have never seen winds and rain like we did last night when it was right on top of us. The power kept flickering off and trees are down everywhere. Seriously if that was a Tropical Storm, and Hurricane Alex was just a category one, I don't want to see any bigger! This valley is still recovering from Hurricane Dolly and that was just a category 2.

My husband has another day off work today, the city he teaches is right by the border and struggles with bad weather. If the power is having problems up here, it is definitely out down there. My toddler is more scared of the chain saws cutting up the downed trees than anything else.

Funny that you mention chain saws. I'm listening to one right now and we haven't had any kind of storm go through here in a very long time. Glad to hear that you came out of the storm unscathed!

Oh wow! I didn't even know one had hit you guys down there! Shows how on top of it I am! Glad everyone is okay. Hopefully we will get some rain up here from it though.

If we could get the rain from any of these storms, that would be great. But I'll leave the wind, thankyouverymuch. I'm glad it wasn't too bad of a storm for you!
