Today we are talking about the features Picnik offers to give eyes a little kick. In the Touch-up menu under create, you will find this menu. It allows you to change eyes in three way, eye color, eye bright and mascara. We will walk through how to do each feature.
First we will start with eye color. The eye color menu looks like this. I recommend making your brush size smaller as the brush colors everything it touches including the pupils and skin around the eye.
Select a smallish brush and then start clicking and dragging over the iris of the eye. It will look more realistic if you can avoid the pupils, unless you want them to have color as well. If you make a mistake hit the undo button on the right hand side of the screen and it will undo your last stroke without undoing everything. After you have covered the original color with your new color, you can change the color.
Blue, green, brown, or eyes that are devoid of color at the default options but you can drag through the color palette and give yourself red, orange, or yellow eyes if you want them.
The next eye choice is Eye Bright. Select a brush that will cover just the eye and make sure to only click and drag over the eye, not any part of the eye lids. Uping the fade will make it look more realistic but you will lose more of the effect. You can allow this feature to lighten the eyes, or allow it to stay the same without any lighten.
The before and after for eye bright, this is without any lighten.
All three of these features are premium features which means you need to have an account to be able to save your creations to your computer. I recommend upgrading, more and more of my readers are sending me messages that they have upgraded and are loving it! It is $4.95 for a month, $19.95 for six months or $24.95 for a year)
P.S. I don’t get paid anything to tell you to upgrade, I just love Picnik and hope you do too. 🙂
