My mom makes the best chocolate chip cookies of all time. OK, OK, so I may be a little biased, but they really are amazing. They are fluffy, delicious and best served with cold glass of milk. In honor of my mother, who is honestly one of the best people I have ever met, I decided to share her delicious cookie recipe with you. Although the recipe is great, it really comes down to preparation to make the cookies amazing.
1/2 C. of Butter or Margarine
1/2 C. Shortening
1/2 C. Sugar
1 C. Brown Sugar, packed
1.5 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2.5 cups flour (My sister adds an extra 1/4 c. flour because she likes puffy cookies.)
12 ounce bag of chocolate chips (Milk chocolate, is the best. Come on, you know it.)
Cream the butter, shortening and sugars until fluffy. The cookies are better the longer you let these cream. Like, seriously, let them cream. My sister always says that she puts these in her Kitchen-Aid to cream and then goes and does a few other chores. Then put in the eggs and vanilla and let cream. You don’t need to let these cream quite as long but still let them cream awhile. Then mix in the dry ingredients. Place on cookie sheet and cook at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
