Broccoli and Bacon Salad

Labor Day in this house means a great BBQ with some of my favorite sides. My mom has been making this salad since I was a kid and I absolutely love it. Who doesn't love anything with bacon? Broccoli and Bacon salad is easy to throw together and the perfect side for your get together.

Salad:
 1/2 lb of bacon
8 C. broccoli florets
1 c. raisins
1/4 c. red onion, minced
1 c. unsalted sunflower seeds

Fry the bacon over high heat until the bacon is crisp, drain and remove from heat. Chop the bacon. Combine all of the ingredients except the sunflower seeds in a large bowl.

Dressing:
1 C. Mayo
1/4 c. sugar
3 TBSP. vinegar

Whisk all of the dressing ingredients together.

About a half hour before serving pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.  Top with the sunflower seeds.

Enjoy and Happy Labor Day!

Yum! I've made something similar, with cubed cheddar and no raisins. I think I might make it this week.
