My girls to not only play with their teddy bears, but match them. These cute and easy five minute felt bows are perfect for dressing up your teddy to match your favorite outfit.
You will need:
- Felt
- Scissors
- A Hot Glue Gun
- Small Hair Rubber Bands (If Making for a Teddy Bear)
- Alligator Clips (If Making for a Child)
For each felt bow you will need three strips of felt. You can make these bows on any kind of scale as long as you have one long and narrow strip, one short and fat strip and one tiny little strip. For these bows, perfect for Teddy Bear ears, you will need a strip that is .5 inch wide by 2 inches long, one strip that is 3 inches wide by 1.75 inches long and a tiny strip that is .25 inches wide and .75 inches long. It isn’t an exact science, as long as they are close they should look good.
Take your long and narrow piece. Cut triangles into the edges of each piece and the middle so it looks like the photo above.
Take your short, narrow piece of felt and squish it in the middle. Add a dab of hot glue on either side of the fold to keep it squished.
Wrap the smallest piece around the middle of the bow. If you are making these bows for a teddy bear, slip the small elastic onto the small piece before you glue it completely. If you are making the bows for a child, hot glue a alligator clip to the back of the bow after securing the piece around the middle of the bow.
Slip the clips into a headband or put them straight into hair. For a teddy bear, simply slip the rubber bands around their ears and straighten the bows.
Now your teddy bear is ready to make the world a happier place. #ShareABear is a movement to show the world that something as small as gifting a teddy bear can brighten one’s day! Snuggle Bear will be making the world a softer place by personally donating teddy bears to people who need them most.
HOWEVER, Since Snuggle Bear can only spread the teddy bear magic so far, everyone’s help is needed! Snuggle is asking fans to share their favorite teddy bear memories through photos, stories, and videos the entire month of SeptemBEAR.
This year, school starting has been harder on my 16-month-old, then I thought it would be. She cries each morning as sister goes to school and leaves her behind. It was breaking my older daughter’s heart to leave her crying each morning. She came up with the idea of a sister bear, a bear that she would give her sister to watch and play with while she was at school so that she wouldn’t miss her so much. It has really helped and watching both girls play with the sister bear when they are together is the highlight of my day. We made this darling video of my girls and the story of the sister bear. It makes me smile and cry every time I watch it. The love they share for each other is the best thing about my life.
Who would you give a sister/grandparent bear to?

How cute! My kids still adore their stuffed animals. The bears could probably use a little pampering–a good cleaning & ear bows.

Stuffed animals are the best!! That was a cute idea to make matching bows. I love that your older daughter loves her sister enough to worry and think up a way to help her.

The bows are cute, but I love the sister bear idea! Not only is it wonderful for your 16-moth old, but you are teaching your older daughter so much about empathy. Way to go!
