- an old jar (I used a pickle jar)
- scissors
- Mod Podge
- a foam brush
- orange and black tissue paper
- Goo Gone
- battery operated candles
- green spray paint
The first thing you need to do is remove the label from your jar. I love to use Goo Gone to remove labels because it makes it so much faster and less frustrating!
At first I started to peel the label off without Goo Gone and it left a papery reside all over the jar.
I sprayed the jar with Goo Gone Spray Gel and was able to rub the label right off.
After the label was off the jar, I washed it with hot soapy water and the dried it really well.
Cut your orange and black tissue paper into squares. One you have a bunch of squares you can start applying them to the jar. Add a layer of Mod Podge and then smooth tissue paper onto the jar, layering the tissue on itself as you.
Allow the orange tissue paper to dry completely and then add the black squares for the face. Make sure you apply a layer of Mod Podge over top of the tissue as well.
Spray pain the lid to your jar green and allow to dry. Place a battery operated candle inside the jar and close the lid. I found flickering candles for these luminaries and it makes them look so fantastic!

This is such a fun and super cute craft! I'm thinking we need to try this over here.
My youngest daughter's birthday is near Halloween, and we keep begging her to have a Halloween themed party. She wants nothing to do with that and she's not big on Halloween. She's the Christmas kid, my oldest daughter is all about Halloween, and my boy is whatever candy, presents, SURE! 🙂

I tend to use old jars to store things, but this is such a great idea. I never knew about this product, but I plan to pick up a bottle ASAP. I hate scraping the glue of jars, it takes forever to come off.
