The love wearing this bracelet and the best part? It only took me about 20 minutes to pull together. Easy, affordable and cute. What are you getting the readers in your life this Christmas season?
Certain books and quotes stick with you forever. As an avid reader, I actually keep a small book of quotes that really hit home for me. This quick and easy bracelet makes a wonderful gift for the reader in your life. You can use any book or make it really special by using a favorite quote from loved book. If you use a classic, you have a high chance of being able to find a copy at your local thrift store for a great price.
You will need:
An old book
A smooth bangle, wider is better
a foam brush
Cut your book pages into strips anywhere from a quarter to a half inch wide. Add a layer of Mod Podge to the part of the bracelet you are working on and secure strips, all going the same direction, to the bracelet. Trim off any excess in the back. You want each strip long enough to cover the bracelet, but short enough that it doesn’t wrap multiple times, trimming all of the pages in the back will hide your seams. After the bracelet is completely covered in book pages, coat the entire thing in another layer of Mod Podge.
If you have a specific quote from the book that you want to feature, trim it down, so there is very little excess around the quote. When the bracelet is dry, add a thin layer of Mod Podge to the center of the bracelet and secure the quote across it. Add another layer of Mod Podge on top, you can also add the title of the book if you want, I like having it there, but it isn’t necessary.
