Have you ever seen the show Butterbeans Café? It is a darling children’s show about a fairy cafe owner who comes up with darling creations. My daughter always wants to cook after she watches an episode and so today we recreated Butterbeans Café Fluttercookies. These soft and delicious sugar cookies are the perfect recipes to roll, cut out and top with blue frosting for the signature cafe cookie!
I have tried just about every sugar cookie recipe that I can get my hands on and this one is by far my favorite!
Butterbeans Café Fluttercookies
Sugar Cookies
You will need:
- 2 sticks of butter, softened
- 2 cups of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sour cream
- 6 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Frosting
You will need:
- 1 C. Softened butter, (or you can use half shortening and half butter)
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 4 C. Powdered sugar
- 1 TBSP milk

- Beat together the butter and sugar until creamy.
2. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until well blended.

3. Fold in 1 C. of Sour Cream.
4. Mix your dry ingredients together and then add them all to the creamy mixture and mix.
5. Refrigerate the dough to firm it up.
6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut with cookie cutters.
7. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Frosting
- Mix your butter, vanilla and powdered sugar together.
- Add your milk, one tablespoon at a time. If the frosting is too dry, add more milk.

Instructions
- Mix your butter and sugar. Beat until creamy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until blended.
- Fold in the sour cream.
- Mix together the dry ingredients together and add to your creamed mixture.
- Refrigerate to firm up the dough.
- Roll out the dough on a floured counter top.
- Cut out with cookie cutters.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes
- Cool and then decorate.
