You will need:
- Tin can, washed and dried
- green spray paint
- the printable found at the end of this post
- red felt
- white felt
- black felt
- orange felt
- a sharpie
- rice or other filler
- sewing machine or needle and thread
- hot glue gun
First make sure all of your cans are safe to be played with and don’t have any sharp edges. You can use a pair of wire cutters to remove pieces if you need to. Lay all of the can with opening down and spray paint them all green.
After the cans have dried, print out the small Angry Bird face printable found at the end of this post and use packing tape or mod podge to secure the faces to the front of the cans. If personally recommend Mod Podge, they will last a lot longer.
The Angry Bird bean bags can be as easy or as hard as you want them to be. I opted for very easy. I laid one of the tin cans down on red felt and trace around it. I cut out two circle and sewed them together. I stopped short of sewing the full circle and then funneled rice in the open hole before I finished sewing up the entire bag.
I free hand cut the simple shapes, like the angry eyebrows in black and the triangles in orange felt. Then I hot glued them on to the front of the bean bag. You can sew them on or embroider them if you are feeling ambitious, but the hot glue face held well and ended up working out great!
Do your kids love to play real life Angry Birds?
