These Easy Apple Dumplings are made with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand! They are the easiest dessert recipe you will ever make!
One of my favorite parts about the holidays is baking delicious things to enjoy as a family.
Unfortunately, because the holidays are so busy, I often find myself with very little time to bake. I am always looking for something easy to make with my kids that will create wonderful holiday memories but won’t take hours to make or clean up so we can still make it to our holiday get togethers on time.
This recipe fits the bill in every way. It is easy, with simple steps that my kids can easily do themselves. It has simple ingredients that I have already on hand, no last minute running to the store. It bakes in a half an hour, which means I can make it last minute if I need to. The best part? It is absolutely delicious. It tastes like you spend hours making it when really it was a few minutes of prep and then baking time. It is the perfect dessert to take to a holiday dinner or just make for your family to eat in front of the fire with your favorite Christmas movie on. We started making this a few years ago and now it is one of my most requested dishes. I used to hate being asked to bring a dessert. Now I love it!
Easy Apple Dumplings
You will need:
- a can of crescent rolls
- 1 cup SpriteⓇ
- 1 apple ( I used a pink lady apple, you can use your favorite kind)
- 8 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 3/4 C. Sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 5 teaspoons flour
- baking spray
- Pan
Peel and core your choice of apple. Cut the apple into eight slices, one of each of the crescent rolls in the tube. Unroll each of the crescents and place a slice of apple at the wide end of the each crescent roll.
Roll each piece of dough into a crescent around the apple slice.
Grease your pan and place your eight rolls evenly spread out in the pan.
Mix the remaining ingredients besides the SpriteⓇ (butter, flour, cinnamon, and sugar) in a bowl and whisk until well combined. Dump the cinnamon mixture over the top of the rolls.
Pour the cup of SpriteⓇ in the bottom of the pan around the rolls.
Bake the dumplings at 350 for 30 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown.
These gorgeous apple dumplings are best served warm, right out of the oven with a scoop of ice cream on top.
My kids absolutely love the addition of SpriteⓇ in this recipe. They always have to rock, paper, scissors for who gets to pour the SpriteⓇ in the dish. It adds just the perfect amount of sweet taste to these easy dumplings.
I have always loved cooking with Coca-ColaⓇ and SpriteⓇ, it can really simplify a recipe, which is what everyone needs during the holidays. Another way SpriteⓇ and Coca-ColaⓇ is simplifying my life is with their new 2L 4-packs at Sam’s Club. It makes it so easy to grab all the SpriteⓇ we need for our holidays parties in one stop. Having the bottles all wrapped together makes it easier to store until we need them too. I love having it on hand to make these Apple Dumplings whenever I need a quick and fantastic dessert. The perfect combination.
