You will need:
- Faux Fur Fabric (You can buy it by the yard at the craft store)
- a notebook (not spiral bound)
- hot glue
- 2 flat marbles
- felt in red and white
- scissors
- orange paper
- a black marker
- mod podge
Lay your notebook open on your faux fur and cut the fur to your specific notebook. The faux fur should cover most of the inside of the journal’s front and back inside cover. the fur should only hang over the top and bottom of the book about half an inch.
After you have your fur cut to your book, Use hot glue to glue the fur to the front of the book and to the inside covers of the notebook. Add a line of hot glue to the half inch that over laps the edges and push them together.
Cut a tongue out of red felt and teeth out of white. Glue them on the inside flap of the book. The tongue behind the teeth.
Trace your flat marbles onto your orange paper. Cut the circles out and add pupils with a black marker. Use Mod Podge to secure the paper to the back of the flat marbles. Once the marbles are completely dry, glue them to the front cover of your book as the eyes.
My 7-year-old is absolutely thrilled with the way her journal turned out and I am too! We already have plans to make more!
