This post was sponsored by the makers of ibi as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. We were sent a complimentary unit so we could share our real opinions with our readers.
All of us are social creatures. I don’t think we all realized how much we needed our daily interactions until they were mostly gone. Social distancing has been so hard on my kids. They miss their classmates, friends, neighbors, and especially their extended family. Luckily, we are in the same house as one set of grandparents, but they miss their other set and their cousins terribly. One of the things that we absolutely love doing together is fun and silly photoshoots with my daughters dressed up as all sorts of characters. We love sharing those with our family all the time, but right now it seems more important than ever as we are all apart for so much longer than we normally are. We just received an ibi TM from SanDisk to make it easier than ever to share our photos with our loved ones and have them share their photos with us. In a time where we are socially separated, ibi brings us together.
Why ibi?
10-minute wizard robes from a t-shirt
Do you have a black t-shirt laying around? Turn them into wizard robes for your kids. It is so easy and literally takes about ten minutes.
- a black t-shirt – If I were to head to the store to buy one, I would probably have bought an extra-large for my six-year-old daughter to make it a little longer, but she loved the shorter stylish look of the adult medium shirt we had at home.
- ribbon – black or silver
- needle and thread or sewing machine
- fabric scissors
- pins (if you want)
Lay your shirt flat on the ground and cut a triangle out of the shirt, starting about halfway up the sleeve on one side and about four inches down on the side of the shirt.
Then slice your shirt open in the front, directly in the middle.
Flip your shirt inside out and bring the sides of the hole you just created together. It should lay flat and nice together. Use a small zig-zag stitch to stitch it close. This will make the body of the robe more fitted and give the sleeve a bell look. Once you have done that for both sides, you can hem the sides of the robe you created when you cut the shirt open.
Add to a piece of ribbon at the top, by the color for each side of the robe. You can then add an iron-on patch if you want! Your robes are finished!
10- minute cloak from a t-shirt
- a t-shirt – This cape ended up much longer on my 6-year-old because the one I had on hand was a men’s XL
- ribbon to match your shirt
- needle and thread or sewing machine
- fabric scissors
- pins (if you want)
Cut the front of your shirt open and then cut the sleeves off of your shirt, making sure to leave the seam on the shirt.
Cowgirl Photos
We had a blast pulling out old Halloween costumes and we even got the family dog involved.
I know these photos are going to bring a smile to the face of grandparents and cousins alike and they were so much fun to take!
What memorable photos will you take to share on your ibi?
