Geeky Scrabble Magnets

July 6, 2016 by Wifeeclectic 21 Comments

What fridge doesn’t need a little geekery to liven up meal times? These darling geeky scrabble magnets are really easy to make and only need a few supplies!

You will need:

  • Scrabble Tiles (You can buy just the tiles on Amazon here.)
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Hot glue
  • Good scissors

Spell out what you want your magnets to say. You can make a single line magnet or like the Harry Potter one above you can have offshoots of a word.

Harry Potter Ideas:
Harry Potter
Hermione
Ron
Hedwig
Expecto Patronum
Neville
Luna

Doctor Who Ideas:
Doctor Who
Allonsy
Geronimo
Fantastic
Tardis
Rose
The Doctor

Star Wars Ideas:
Star Wars
The Force
BB8
R2D2
Rey
Finn
Do or Do Not

Using hot glue, start gluing your word to a Popsicle stick. After you have the entire word on the stick, trim the excess with scissors.

Add strong magnets to the back of the Popsicle sticks.

Add to your fridge and enjoy your new piece of geeky kitchen ware.

What would you put on a clip?

DIY is always fun and I enjoy doing it with the kids as well. Having these on my fridge would be awesome and what's great is that you can also stick the magnets on the individual pieces to leave messages on your fridge for the family to see!

Such a cute idea! I love that they're attached together, because I know I would lose a random letter and we'd have to find a new word to replace it with!
