In this digital age, there’s an app for everything — literally, everything! I have used Pinterest and other apps to try to organize our family favorite recipes, but maybe it’s my old age showing (you know, 30 is really old these days!) but I have been wanting easy-to-access hard copies of our favorite recipes. Not all of these recipes are online, and it feels cumbersome (not to mention taxing on an over-tired mom brain) to remember which recipe is in the cloud and which is in my recipe box.
Recipe Binder
Around the same time as I was reorganizing, I was also asked to coordinate a recipe collection for a couple of bridal showers, so the stars aligned: it was time to put together a recipe binder. Of course, it couldn’t just be any old recipe binder. I needed something colorful and fun, since cooking and baking are low on my list of favorite hobbies, and color makes everything better!
Lucky for you, I love sharing way more than I like cooking dinner every night, so I have a whole printable recipe binder set for y’all today. 21 pages of colorful foodie printables! And, bonus, the cover pieces are fillable so you can add any name you’d like to the cover. Perfect for a bridal shower, wedding gift, graduation gift, or just for anyone wanting to organize all of their recipes in one spot.

For the binder I put together, I used these sheet protectors, these page protector dividers, these 4×6 sheet protectors, and these cute 4×6 recipe cards which, so conveniently, are a nearly perfect match for the font of the recipe binder printables. (It’s the little things that make me happy!) You probably don’t need both the recipe cards AND the full recipe sheet from the printable set, but it’s nice to have both page protector types in a binder so you can toss in whatever recipes you have, however you have them saved, without needing to type up or write out a recipe again — so for the bridal shower recipe binders, I wanted both. After I purchased mine separately, I also found that Amazon sells a recipe binder starter kit — how perfectly convenient is that!
For the binder, I personally really like using the D-ring binders and I used one like this that has the extra pockets in the front and back for tucking things in until they can be organized in the binder. I like to put all of my favorites in a 1″ binder, but I know some people prefer to split their recipes into multiple 1/2-inch binders, too — whatever works for you!
The printable pack has everything else you need! The cover comes in 9 different colors, each with a fillable field for whatever name you’d like to include. Open the PDF file (available for download to subscribers below) in Adobe Reader, type the name in the field for the cover and the spine, and then print just the page(s) with the colors you want to print.
Beginning on page 12 of the printable file, there are 8 watercolor style dividers for your recipe binder, in all the colors of the rainbow:
- appetizers and snacks
- breakfast
- main dish
- soup and salad
- side dish
- bread
- dessert
- everything else (which was much prettier to type than miscellaneous)
The last two pages of the recipe binder printable set are blank recipe cards, for full-sheet recipes. The first has a margin on the left to allow for 3-hole punching so you can stick it directly in the binder. The second recipe sheet has no extra margin, suitable for printing and putting into a sheet protector in the binder.
