If you are looking for a perfect and easy banana bread recipe, look no further. This recipe is perfect for adding chocolate chips, nuts or just eating plain! We make it at least a few times a month, it is just that good. My kids always beg each other to not eat the bananas so they will go black and I will make bread, because we all know that banana bread is better than just a banana.

Cream together the bananas, sugar, and the shortening. (I find the longer I let these ingredients cream, the better the bread.) Add the remaining ingredients and place in a greased and floured bread pan. (This recipe makes two loaves.) Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (poke with a toothpick or something small to make sure it is done, if not let it stay in for another 5 minutes. Continue until the toothpick comes out clean.)Want to know a trick? I love banana bread! And I just made my first successful non-gas oven batch last week. Hooray for black bananas! (Sometimes I'll even double the bananas :D)
