My mom makes the best chocolate chip cookies of all time. OK, OK, so I may be a little biased, but they really are amazing. They are fluffy, delicious and best served with a cold glass of milk. In honor of my mother, who is honestly one of the best people I have ever met, I decided to share her delicious cookie recipe with you. Although the recipe is great, it really comes down to preparation to make the cookies amazing.
My Mom’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
You will need:
1/2 C. of Butter or Margarine
1/2 C. Shortening
1/2 C. Sugar
1 C. Brown Sugar, packed
2 Eggs
1.5 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2.5 cups flour (My sister adds an extra 1/4 c. flour because she likes puffy cookies.)
12 ounce bag of chocolate chips (Milk chocolate, is the best. Come on, you know it.)

Cream the butter, shortening, and sugars until fluffy. The cookies are better the longer you let these cream. Like, seriously, let them cream. My sister always says that she puts these in her Kitchen-Aid to cream and then goes and does a few other chores. Then put in the eggs and vanilla and let cream. You don’t need to let these cream quite as long but still let them cream awhile. Then mix in the dry ingredients. Use a cookie scoop to create 1-inch cookie dough balls.

These are the cookies that I grew up eating after school and I love making them for my kids! You will love them too.
They sound and look delicious, but I'm loyal to semi-sweet chocolate chips. 🙂 I don't think your mom would mind, would she? 😉
Yum. I've never met a chocolate chip cookie I didn't like. Speaking of which, I have some frozen cookie dough in the fridge that is calling out to be baked and devoured…
