The really fun thing about Tinker Bell is the opportunity to have fresh and healthy options that are still a lot of fun. I made two different kinds of toadstools for the party. Veggie toadstools made with string cheese sticks cut in half and halved grape tomatoes, as well as fruit toadstools made with large marshmallows and apple slices. Make sure to leave the skin on the apples to help give them the look of a toadstool.
I cut peanut butter sandwiches in the shape of flowers and used a bowl of stick pretzels as “twigs.” I cut banana circles and added blackberries to the top of them to look like flower centers.
One of my favorite parts of the food was making Tinker Bell’s wings out of strawberries. I found this cute 4.5 inch doll at Walmart that had removable wings and was perfect for this. I loved that since the wings came off I could use it for the party and then put the wings back on for my daughter to be able to play with the doll.
When the kids came in their were wings and tutus for each one of them, so they could dress up like a fairy.
After the kids were dressed up, they could stop by the photo booth. I love creating food booths with plastic table cloths. For this one I used a green one for a floor drop and this cute printed one for the back. I simply taped them to my wall for instant photo booth.
Each child at the tea party was able to decorate both a fairy house and a fairy wand. I bought glitter glue and lots of stickers and the kids had fun putting their own twist on both. For older kids paints would be a great option!
For decorations, I created paper lanterns out of construction paper. The lanterns are really easy to make, simply fold a piece of construction paper in half long ways. Make cuts all the fold towards the outer edge of the paper without cutting all the way through. Unfold the paper and wrap it into a circle, and then staple shut. Make sure to add another strip of paper for the handle.
One of my favorite decorations was this cute printable saying my favorite quote from Peter Pan. You can find this printable and the food label printables below
We decorated the houses and wands first sot they would have time to dry and then we played games like Pixie, Pixie, Tinker Bell (like duck, duck goose.)
After the kids were done playing we all sat down with snacks to watch the new movie, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Never Beast. The kids had fun watching it!
After the movie was over, we took the kids outside to play bubbles while we waited for their moms. This Tinker Bell bubble fairy was absolutely darling and the perfect touch to playing bubbles. The kids loved taking turns making bubbles.
