Today we have the Amazing Marie from Lil Pink Pocket here today to share with us her 2×4 pumpkins. Marie is wonderfully creative when it comes to pumpkins! Make sure to also check out her Hand Print Pumpkins and her Black and Silver Pumpkins.
Hello friends of Housewife Eclectic! I’m so happy to be here today! I’m Marie and I blog over at Lil Pink Pocket. I’m a wife and mother of two adorable little girls that keep me busy. I’m a do it yourself kind of girl and I love creating! I love all things fancy and beautiful, but live a thrifty lifestyle and can’t find it in me to pay full price for anything. Over at Lil Pink Pocket you’ll find furniture makeovers, painting and glazing techniques, recipes, sewing tutorials, crafts, home decor and so much more! I hope you’ll stop by and see me!
I’m so excited to be sharing my {2 x 4} pumpkins for the Month ‘O Pumpkins. These are so easy to make and very inexpensive! So let’s get to it!
Here’s what you need:
- any kind of wood you want to use: 3 blocks for the small pumpkin (5 inches tall) and 4 blocks for large pumpkin (7 inches tall). The blocks do not need to be smooth. As you can see from the photo mine were very imperfect, but that’s what I like so much about them!
- orange paint
- stain
- dowels for stem
- ribbon and wire
- Paint wood blocks orange. You don’t need to worry about painting the bottom or the sides that you won’t be able to see. Make sure they are completely dry before adding stain.
- Stain dowels and wood blocks with foam brush or paper towel. For the pumpkin blocks I painted the stain on and wiped off with a paper towel leaving most of it in the cracks and dents.
- We used a nail gun to attach the blocks together. You could also use liquid nails or wood glue.
- Glue on stem.
- Add ribbon.
- Twist wire around a pen or pencil and hot glue end in the ribbon.
And you’re done! Thanks so much for having me here and letting me be a part of the Month ‘O Pumpkins! Stop by Lil Pink Pocket and say hi! Enjoy!
Thanks Marie! These 2×4 pumpkins are the perfect addition to anybody’s fall decor.

These are adorable! I love the unexpectedness of square pumpkins, and I agree that the roughness and imperfections in the wood is what makes them so cute! These would be perfect on my balcony!

How cute! And I love that the textured look isn't from using beadboard or having to use a special tool… just scraps and that makes it so much cheaper. SO cute!
Megan Harmeyer says
OMGosh those are cute! And simple enough that even I might be able to make them.
