3 Natural Pain-Relief Ideas For Pregnancy

January 1, 2022 by Wifeeclectic Leave a Comment

As parents, we’re used to being in all kinds of pain. It’s just the way of life for anyone that has a kid; you’ve got loads of extra work to do, putting stress on every different part of your body. As a result, we’re always looking for solutions to help relieve the pain. Some solutions work, but are they natural? Today, you’ll find three natural pain-relief ideas that genuinely work:

Heat Therapy

One of the oldest pain-relief techniques around. For centuries, doctors and physicians have used heat therapy to treat a wide range of aches and pains. As a parent, you’re going to be achy in your joints from all the walking and carrying you do. Especially if you’re pregnant with another child – then your knees and ankles will kill! Heat therapy provides warmth to the afflicted area, soothing your pain. The science behind it is that it improves circulation, which then helps loosen up stiffness and relieve your pain. No chemicals or anything unnatural is used at all, and this can be done with just a hot water bottle or a hot bath!

Stretching & Self-Massage

Those of you with muscular or joint pain will benefit from stretching and massaging your muscles. Often, the pain stems from muscles that are too tight. As a result, stretching them out can relieve so much tension and reduce a lot of inflammation that’s building. Likewise, massaging breaks up tough muscle tissue and can get rid of muscle knots that cause trigger points of pain. There are so many different massage tools you can buy and use at home these days, making this such an easy way to naturally relieve your pain. Also, stretching and massaging muscles can also ease nerve pain in a lot of instances as well. For instance, sciatica can be treated with a simple stretching routine.

Turmeric

You may know this as the spice that turns your entire kitchen yellow whenever you use it. Indeed, turmeric is mainly known for its cooking uses, but it is also a secret natural pain reliever. You see, turmeric is an anti-inflammatory, meaning it can reduce inflammation in the body. Some studies have actually shown improvements in arthritis symptoms from people that have taken a turmeric supplement. Effectively, this is a natural alternative to anti-inflammatory medication. Make no mistake about it, pain relief drugs do work. The only problem is that they are drugs! While designed to help you, they can be extremely addictive. As such, rehab centers like Sunshine Behavioral Health often have patients checking in with addictions to common pain relief prescription drugs. Finding an alternative – like turmeric capsules – can help you get the relief you need without the worry of addiction.

The whole point of this post is to give you a few alternative ideas for pain relief. This is helpful for anyone with common issues, but it’s particularly useful if you’re pregnant. When pregnant, there are many things you can’t do, meaning you often have to deal with pain in more natural ways. These ideas let you cope with the aches and pains without putting drugs in your system.
