3D Metallic Pumpkin Art
You will need:
- a small carvable pumpkin, I picked mine up at the dollar store
- metallic spray paint
- 11×14 Canvas
- black spray paint
- knife
- ribbons in fall colors with various widths
- hot glue
Cut your pumpkin in half using a knife. The pumpkins from the dollar store cut really easily and are hollow inside. Spray paint your canvas black and your pumpkin in a metallic shade. I was really surprised how much spray painting the pumpkin changed the look and feel of it. It was OK before, but the metallic paint really made it pop!
Using different widths and patterns of ribbon, you are basically going to make a Union Jack on the canvas.
Make your large X in the back of the canvas first using your skinniest ribbon. Hot glue the ribbon down on the edges. Use your thickest ribbon across the center of the canvas and top with your favorite ribbon down the front. I only hot glued the ribbons on the back of the canvas, but you could glue them across the canvas too if you are having trouble getting them to lay flat.
Finish by hot gluing the pumpkin to the center of the canvas. I absolutely love the way this turned out. The 3D Metallic Pumpkin Art has the perfect amount of shine, but not so much that my husband rolls eyes at it. In fact, I this might be his favorite Halloween decoration in our house too.
That came out AWESOME!!! I absolutely love it.
That is such a cool project. I love how the pumpkin looks in gold.

Awesome project – I had no idea it was DIY!
I'm totally with you on having fall decor not look to scary or goofy. That's why I stick with harvest fall decor. It's easier to make sure it all looks like it goes together and feels right. I don't like the scary stuff, even though it is really funny!
Soooooooo much fun! I love the metallic pumpkin- so darn cute! Love this idea!
What a fabulous DIY! It turned out SO cute!
