You have to make sure you enjoy your life, too. Having kids feels amazing, but you had a life before them and will have one when they’re all grown up. You’re a parent for the rest of your life, but you won’t have to be 100% responsible for them all of the time. Go on vacation, get some loose diamonds, spend time with friends – do what you can to remember that you can do things for yourself every now and again.

Mental health is so important. Both your and your child’s mental health matter more than perhaps society has let on over the past fifty years. The home also has to be in the right shape in order to look after every single person. If you have a messy place that just isn’t organized at all, then you’re going to be in a rough spot going forward. Make sure your home is clean, tidy, hygienic, and safe for a child to roam around in. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is.
