8 Amazing Mother’s Day Gifts for Avid Readers

April 4, 2017 by Wifeeclectic 16 Comments

What do you buy for an avid reader? An obvious answer would be a book. But what if you want to think outside of the box? Uncommon Goods is the perfect place to find the perfect gift. This incredible site brings artisan gifts to you. Every thing on this this list comes from Uncommon Goods and this list contains everything from wearables to decor that bibliophile’s are bound to love!

Banned Book Socks – The Great Gatsby, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird have two things in common, they were once all banned AND they are featured on these socks. With one sock featuring the titles of the books and one sock featuring the redacted titles, these are perfect for any book lover. Made in China.

Love these banned book socks? You can find a banned book tote, mug and scarf too.

Books & Eyeglasses Mismatched Earrings

These darling and colorful book earrings are lightweight and comfortable to wear all day. They are the perfect pop of color to any outfit. They are so cute my 8-year-old begs to borrow them.

These earrings are cloisonné enameled studs that are gilded in 22-karat gold and set on hypoallergenic posts. Designed by Christine Schmidt; made in San Francisco.

Cork Globe. This cork globe is an avid reader’s dream! Use push pins to mark where you have traveled whether physically or through the written word.

The way the globe is designed lets you pin pictures, tickets or other memorable trip moments to the globe too!

Literary Scarves-  These gorgeous, light weight scarfs feature the text from some of the most iconic books ever written. My scarf features words from Jane Eyre. I love being able to wear a piece of my fabric book in such a cute way. These scarves are soft, made from a t-shirt material type of knit. They are perfect for winter but won’t over heat you in spring or fall.
Choose from Jane Eyre, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights and Pride and Prejudice.
Hand printed in Portland, OR.

Mini Library Scented Tea Lights – Set of 10

These mini tea lights are one of the most innoventive book gift I have ever seen. They create the smells from some of your favorite books and wrap them all up in a small tea light candle. Each candle has a label that converts into a book mark too!
Inspired by a tale of unrequited love among reckless, wealthy socialites in the beach mansions of Long Island, The Green Light smells like 1920s perfume mixed with the sea. Signal Fire’s comforting woodsy scent is laced with a slightly less civilized musky undertone, hinting at what might happen if British schoolboys marooned on an uninhabited island were to unleash their untamed inner beasts. The Scarlet Letter, sweetly dark and seductive, combines fragrances of wild red roses and black currant, inspired by the symbolism of the rosebush in the haunting American classic. Made in Illinois.

Scents:
– Signal Fire
– Burning Books
– Open Road
– Moonlit Moors
– The Green Light
– Walden Woods
– Pemberley Park
– Scarlet Letter
– Aged Page
– Café Au Library

Personalized Library Card Pillow . This amazing personalized pillow features all of your families information on a darling library card. It was the perfect pillow or our reading chair in our library. Our family is the Title and my husband and I are the authors with our kiddos being the borrowers. The perfect way to capture our love of books. Designed by Rebecca Rodriguez; made in New Jersey.

Library Card Socks – These fun yellow socks are designed to look like an old library card. I almost want to grab a marker and fill in the due dates!

Library Card Tote Bag  This natural cotton cloth is printed to look like an empty library card it has an inner pocket and lots of room for all of your books. This book is our library bag and I adore it. People are always asking me where I got it.

Every single item on this list is something that I use often. They are a great way to express my love of reading, that and the constant book in my hand.
What are you going to get the book lover in your life?

My daughter is a avid reader and would love some of these fun items. Thinking especially the socks and perhaps the bag to carry her books and kindle in. Who doesn't love some new candles.
