One of my absolute favorite things about owning a Cricut is there selection of Make It Now projects. They have an entire gallery of shirts, decor and activities that you can choose from. Simply find a project you like, customize it (or don’t!) and hit go and you have an fun, gorgeous project fast. The best part? Most of them are completely free to make if you have Cricut Access.
When you first hit the new Cricut Design Space, simply scroll down to see some of the most current project. You can scroll through vinyl project, iron-on projects and even cards to make. Simply click through until you find one that you love.
I found this Beach Memory Jar in the summer section and fell in love. We just got back from the beach last week and I wanted some way to display the sand and shells we brought home with us. If you look under the title “Beach Memory Jar” in the photo above, there is a little puzzle piece that tells you the difficulty level of the project and a clock that tells you about how long the project will take you. So from looking at the image, you know that this in an easy project that will take less than a half an hour.
Underneath all of that, it will have a list of materials you will need to make the project exactly like the one in the photo. You can stick to the plan or change it up a little bit. It is totally up to you. This is my favorite part of Make It Now Projects. I don’t have to wrack my brain trying to come up with the idea, but I can make it my own. There is a green Make It button at the bottom of the project page, hit this if you want to make the project completely as it. If you want to customize it first, hit the green and white customize button.
With this project, I changed a couple of things. First thing, I wanted to include the triangle on the jar instead of inside of it and I of course wanted it to list the beach where we were.
For my version of the project, I needed:
a large mason jar
shells and sand
a 3.5 X 5 Photo from our trip
I cut the entire project out of the adhesive foil and weeded out the design using the weeder tool. (It is my FAVORITE tool. If you don’t have one, you need one!)
Clean the front of your jar with rubbing alcohol and then let it dry completely. Apply a piece of transfer tape over the top of your design and rub the design with a credit card or scrapper, until the design comes up onto the tape cleanly when you pull up on the tape.
Place the design, with the transfer tape on the front of your mason jar and then use a credit card or scrapper adhere the design to the jar, rubbing the design until the design stays on the jar when you slowly pull up the transfer tape.
Add sand and shells from your favorite beach to the bottom of the jar.
Add your favorite picture from your trip to the top of the jar and then secure the lid! I knew I wanted to do some sort of fun craft with photos and shells when we got home so I made sure to make my entire family sit down and take a picture of our sandy feet. I am so glad I did, it is the perfect photo for this jar!
This entire project took me less than 30 minutes, just like the instructions said it would! I was thrilled with how it turned out and I loved how easy it was! Cricut Make It Now projects are the perfect projects when you have a time crunch or just need a cute idea. It is like Pinterest, only better because it lays out everything so easy for you to make!
Have you ever made a Make It Now project?

LOVE this…I have jars and jars of shells in my bathroom because it has a beach theme. These would be perfect to put on the jars so that I remember which beach they came from.
