Labor Day in this house means a great BBQ with some of my favorite sides. My mom has been making this salad since I was a kid and I absolutely love it. Who doesn’t love anything with bacon? Broccoli and Bacon Salad is easy to throw together and the perfect side for your get together.

Broccoli and Bacon Salad
You will need:
- 1/2 pound of bacon
- 8 C. broccoli florets
- 1 C. raisins
- 1/4 C. red onion, minced
- 1 C. unsalted sunflower kernels
Step 1: Fry the bacon over high heat until the bacon is crisp, drain and remove from heat.
Step 2: Chop the bacon.

Step 3: Combine all of the ingredients except the sunflower seeds in a large bowl.
Now it is time to make the dressing.
Dressing:
- 1 C. Mayo
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 TBSP. vinegar
Step 4: Whisk all of the dressing ingredients together.
Step 5: About a half-hour before serving pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.
Step 6: Top with the sunflower seeds.

Yum!!! This looks so good. Can't go wrong adding bacon to anything!
