Here is what I keep in my diaper kit:
- Diapers (I use Huggies Snug and Dry Ultra)
- Baby Wipes
- Sanitizing Wipes
- Hand Sanitizer
- Diaper Changing Pad
- A full outfit change for baby
- A T-shirt for myself
- Diaper Rash Cream
- A plastic sack for the messy clothes
- a stain treating pen
- baby medicine
- a bucket from the dollar store
I keep a large stack of diapers in my kit, because it is in my car, I feel like I can carry more than I normally would, which means I have to think about refilling it less. I also keep two different types of wipes and a changing pad. I pack a full outfit for the baby, I try and find a single piece outfit to leave in the car, I often use a pair of pajamas if it is a cold time of year. I also include a simple t-shirt for myself in case I am in a place where I can’t get home to change easily.
In our case, blowouts and teething usually go hand in hand, so I carry around teething tablets and medicine too. A stain fighting pen will let you start fighting those stains before you even get home and a plastic sack will keep the dirty clothes from getting anything else dirty.
I found a small container at the dollar store to hold everything and then I added some glitter washi tape to the container because…. glitter. It is cute, functional and the best part is that it took only about 15 minutes to decorate the container AND pull the items together for the kit.
I love having everything I need close by, without necessarily having to carry it with me every where I go. Some other items to consider for your kit, a back up pacifier or sippy, small snacks and sunscreen.
One of the reasons I love Huggies, is their commitment to supporting projects that are important to families. Right now you can nominate your favorite community project to possibly receive a $2,000 grant from Huggies.
From April 20th until June 25th, Huggies will be accepting all selfies of you and your baby with the hashtag #UltraHug, and featuring them in a collage on the campaign landing page. On July 6th, voting will begin to narrow down the 20 finalists to 10 winners who will win a $2,000 grant from Huggies for their nominated community initiative.
I nominate my local lactation clinic, A Mother’s Touch Lactation Clinic. The women at this clinic went above and beyond to help me succeed with breastfeeding my child and I would love for them to be able to provide more one on one opportunities with women who need their help with this money. Without them, breastfeeding my child wouldn’t have been possible and I will forever be grateful for the kindness, patience and many, many weigh ins.
So what are you waiting for? Take a selfie with your little ones and nominate a project that is near and dear to your heart on Instagram or Twitter. Let Huggies support what is important to you!

That is an awesome idea. You never know when you'll need it.

What a great list of things to have on hand. I would have never thought to bring a stain pen.

This is an amazing idea and I wish I had thought of it when I had littles! I was never prepared for their accidents in the car – LOL!

Ha! I think I had blocked out most of the blowouts from my memory. A parent can never be too prepared.

I can definitely see the diaper blowout kit being an essential travel kit!

This is such a great idea! I wish I'd had something like this when the boys were little!

This is such a smart idea. You should never be without diapers, and keeping them like this in the car is brilliant.
