It is no secret that I am a Doctor Who Fanatic. I love everything about The Doctor, his companions, and the TARDIS, so when Easter came early this year and I was left with a wide gap between holidays, I decided to channel that love into my mantel.
This Doctor Who Mantel is such a fun combination of Doctor Who Elements and I am going to give you ideas on how to make your own mantel. Below you will find a tutorial for the wreath and the terrarium as well as links to buy some of the other things.

One of my very favorite parts of this mantel is the original artwork with Stitch dressed up as 10. My brother drew it as a Christmas present for me a few years back and I adore it. He is an amazing artist with a degree in illustration. Check out some of his work here.
Another one of my favorite pieces on this mantel is the Union Jack Teapot. I actually painted this myself at As You Wish Pottery. I picked a blank teapot with a crazy idea in my head and they gave me the tools to execute it perfectly! I will be taking my kids back there for painting parties for sure!

Doctor Who Tardis Wreath
You will need:
- a wire wreath form
- six deep blue rolls of deep blue deco mesh (from the dollar store)
- a Tardis model for the middle (I used this night light cover, it is lightweight and perfect for this project)
- Police Public Call Box Printable, found at the end of this post
- Pipe Cleaners
Tie the end of one of the rolls to the outside ring on the wreath. You can also use a pipe cleaner to secure the mesh, but I like using fewer supplies.
Pinch about three inches of mesh into a loop and push it through the top opening in the wreath. Pinch another three-inch loop and push it through the second opening. Pinch a third three-inch loop and push it through the third opening. Repeat the whole process over and over again until you run out of the mesh. One roll of dollar store mesh should fill one section of your wreath form, so you have one roll for each section.

Print the Police Public Call Box Printable at the end of this post. Cut out the sign leaving two inches of blank space on top and bottom of the words. Fold the blank space around the back into a triangle and tape in place.
Place the sign and the TARDIS in the wreath, securing with pipe cleaners.
Doctor Who Terrarium
You will need:
- Large Vase with a lid
- White Decorative Rocks
- Small Tardis Statue (I used the Tardis from this Salt and Pepper set. It works great!)
Fill the vase with decorative rocks until it is about three-quarters of the way full. You want the Tardis to be almost completely visible with the lid on. Sandwich the Tardis on its side in the rocks. Put the lid on and you are done!
