One of my favorite things about being geeky is adding little touches of fandom around my house. Nothing huge, just a touch here to make me smile when I walk passed it. This terrarium is one of my favorite things in my whole house. It was super easy to bring together and if you were trying to be super frugal you could use a lot of things you have on hand or laying about your yard.
You will need:
- a large jar with or without lid
- river rocks
- dirt (if you are using real succulents)
- succulents, real or fake
- Tardis Pen
Add a layer of rocks at the bottom of your jar, then add your dirt if you are going to be using real plants. Add your plants and then place the moss around the edges of the plants. I used fake plants because I am terrible at remembering to water house plants and I didn’t want to have to replace them every week,
To add the Tardis pen, you will either need to break the Tardis off the top of the pen, or make sure you have a jar that is deep enough that you can stick the pen into the rocks and have it sit where it is supposed to in the jar. I did the later, because who knows if you are going to want to use the pen as a pen later.
I love this little hint of geek in my living room, it is subtle but lots of fun!
Do you have any geeky decor?

We are a Star Wars family, so we have a few things around the house.

What a fun idea!
What a great homage to Doctor Who. We're huge Disney fans so we have a ton of Disney stuff in our home. I try to find things that don't blindside you with Disney-ness, but have the right feel.
That is a cute idea and if it makes you happy then it is well worth the effort of putting it together.
What a great idea! I have geek accents all over our home as well. I think it really makes everyone feel more comfortable when there are things we all love around our house like that!

I so get this – we are a Disney family. I've got Disney crap everywhere through my house. I really love the idea to stick a little something in with a succulent thanks!

Geeky decor? Does video game and comic book characters count? Then yes we do lol. I have never even seen one episode of Dr. Who believe it or not!
How fun! I haven't made a terrarium since I was in school and believe you me that was a long time ago. 😉
This is too cute! I havent made a terrarium before.
