Easter Candy Vase

March 17, 2016 by Wifeeclectic 18 Comments

I have never really decorated for Easter before. We have never been sure how long we were going to stay in one place and I didn’t want to gather too many decorations I was just going to have to move. That is where this darling vase idea came from. It is really cute, perfect for Easter but it doesn’t really take up much room after the holiday is over because the vases can be used for other holidays.

You will need:
  • Two Vases, one bigger vases and one straight cylinder
  • A package of Peeps
  • Spring M&Ms
  • Flowers

First decide on your colors. There are green, yellow, purple, pink and blue M&Ms in a pastel bag of M&Ms and the Peeps come in green, yellow, blue, purple and bright pink. I decided to go with mostly yellow and purple with a hint of pink.

Separate your M&Ms into the different colors. This was a great project for my kids. They loved helping and it made it go a lot faster. If you use all of the colors from the bag of M&Ms you will be able to use fewer bags, since I was using just a couple of colors I needed 3-4 bags.

Place your small vase inside your larger vase. Add a layer of M&Ms to the bottom and then squish your Peeps in next. Add several more layers of M&Ms, layering them in color.

Add your flowers. The layered vases allows you to use real flowers if you want, but I just think it is easier to buy a few fake flowers so I don’t have to worry about it later.

I absolutely LOVE this decoration and my mom admires it every time she sees it. Adds the perfect amount of color to my dining room table.

Do you decorate for Easter?

All that candy would never last long enough for me to make a vase out of it, but I Love yours. So cute.

This is so bright and festive for the vase! Love all the candy – that will be a blast to eat through later! 😉 And anything with Peeps is amazing!

Very cute decoration. Peeps are so adorable, my kids always want me to buy them and they eat one and then I toss the rest. The M&m's though have my name written all over them!

What a cute idea. I'm sure my kiddos would eat all the candy up in one day though.

I decorate a little for Easter. It is hard when my son's birthday is around the same time as Easter.

What a fantastic idea! I would not have thought to place a vase within a vase. I love the look of peeps but do not like to eat them. This is a great way for me to include the Easter favorite ! I am making this for my Easter centerpiece
