Easy Football Recipes

I honestly believe that the smart phone and unlimited plans are the greatest invention to happen to football fans and fantasy football fans ever. Instead of hours of sitting next to the computer checking the scores and stats of non-televised games for his fantasy football, he can pull his phone out of his pocket and know the score in seconds before coming back to what we are doing in the present.

We are a football family. When I first met my husband, I hated the game. He graciously gave up watching his favorite sport for a while, but after we had been dating awhile, he was done. He wanted to watch football and more, he wanted me to watch it with him. He took me on a date to a college football game and told me that when I could understand the game well enough to explain it to him, we could leave. I set out to learn the game quickly, so we could get out of there, but by the end of the half. I was hooked. Now that I understood the game, I loved it. We have spent almost every Saturday during football season since then either watching football on TV or in attendance at a stadium.

Football Cake: 
You will need a square or rectangle cake and two batches of frosting. Frost the cake with green frosting. If you want the cake to be really easy, add a little green food coloring to a tub of pre-made frosting and stir, or you can use your favorite recipe. Add the white frosting to a pipping bag and using a round tip, make yard lines across the length of the entire cake. You can also use a star trip to make ruffles on the edges if you want, but it isn’t necessary. This cake comes together for me in about 10 minutes. Easy and the perfect addition to any football snack table. 

Football is an important part of our lives and since our purchase of smart phones a couple of years ago, easier to access than ever.

Shrimp and sauce: For an really easy football pleaser. We love to buy cooked shrimp and a bottle of cocktail sauce. It takes absolutely no prep and the guys love it! 

Chili and Queso Fries: Take 1 can of No Bean chili and 1 15 oz jar of Medium Salsa Con Queso then  Mix the two together in a crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours. Spread over fresh fried fries.

    We are a football family too. It is funny though because I am the football fan in the family. I had to teach my husband all about the game. He enjoys it now too.

    I love using my smartphone for the stats because we are so busy I don't have the time to sit and watch all the games.

    I love the cake. I think I might be making that one tomorrow. 🙂

    Our Football game was on last night, but I'm thinking we need to watch a random team tonight…just so I have an excuse to eat all that yummy food. And I love that cake. Super cute!
