Easy Red, White and Blue Bubble Necklaces

We love bubble necklaces in our house. My girls have one for just about every occasion. They add such a cute element to each outfit that I can’t seem to help buying them in each color. Yes, I said buy. While I love almost every kind of crafting, jewelry making has remained way over my head. I have always assumed that bubble necklaces would be too hard to make. When Fizzy Pops contacted me and asked if I wanted to try my hand at making them, I hesitantly agreed. I love the necklaces, but jewelry making has always seemed so frustrating. But, I made my first necklaces this weekend and I don’t think I will buy them again. They are THAT easy to make.

I am thrilled with how these necklaces turned out and they only took about 10 minutes a piece, and that is for a bubble necklace beginner!

I got all of the supplies from Fizzy Pops and I love the luster of their beads. They are really pretty. Here is what I used for these necklaces.

You will need from Fizzy Pops:

 

 

First you will need to cut your wire the desired length of your necklace plus 1.5 inches on each side. My wire is 22 inches long, plus the 1.5 inches on each side, for a total of 25 inches.

Close a 6mm jump ring and slide it on the end of your wire. Loop the wire around the ring and then slide two crimp beads over both sections of wire. Use a pair of pliers to crimp the crimp beads down until they are tight and flat. You can also add an extender chain at this point, if you want to. After your beads are crimped. you are ready to add your necklace beads. Here is my necklace pattern for this necklace:

Three small blue
Spacer bead
Three small red
Spacer bead
Large white
Spacer bead

(repeated 3x)

Three small blue
Spacer bead
Red rose bead
Spacer bead

Three small blue
Spacer bead
Three small red
Spacer bead
Large white
Spacer bead

Repeated 3x, minus the last large white bead. Add 2 crimp beads to finish.

Slide a lobster clasp onto a 6mm jump ring and then close the jump ring. Slide the jump ring onto the wire and then double back the wire through the crimp beads and a couple extra of the necklace beads. Crimp the crimp beads until they are tight and then trim the excess wire.

My girls absolutely love these necklaces, especially the cute little roses on the bottom. All I need now is to learn how to add all the geekiness to a necklace.

    Those are beautiful and you did a great job. I personally can't wear jewelry that isn't gold so can't make them for myself but I can see me making one for my daughter. Love it!

    Your beautiful girls seems to really love those necklaces. I didn't know if we can make necklaces as simple as you've showed on this post. It definitely inspired me to make my own nekclace.

    So totally adorable – and it's great that they're pretty easy to make. I'd probably do something with yellow roses or in a Kayle parasol theme (from Firefly) if I were letting the nerd out. 🙂

    I love these! And I think my daughter would love to wear one! I used to do a ton of beading when I was younger…I'm not sure why I don't still do it, this makes me want to start again.

    This is a great craft. I love those kind of necklaces. I bet you made the dresses your girls are wareing also. My mom always made the dresses for my siser and I.
