Guitar Pick Earrings

November 30, 2015 by Wifeeclectic 23 Comments

My love for the guitar extends to a lot of other things in my life. You can see it on my Rock N’ Roll Christmas tree that features guitar picks and musical instrument ornaments and you can even see it in my jewelry. I have made several different combinations of guitar pick earrings and I absolutely love them. This fun red and green set is perfect for Christmas and would make a great stocking stuffer for the guitar lover in your life.

You will need:

  • Two Guitar Picks
  • Two Jump Rings
  • Two Earrings
  • Pliers
  • A Drill and Small Bit

Place the guitar picks on a block of wood or other surface you can drill into. Right below the top of the of the pick, drill a small hole.

Put the jump rings through the hole, add the earring piece and then use the pliers to close the jump ring tight.

The best part about these earrings is that you can make one in a bunch of different colors and then mix and match to suit your outfit or the time of year. I love having red and green ones for the season!

Who knew it was that easy to bring a little music to your jewelry?
We decided to get a little creative this year and create a video about my daughter’s guitar Christmas wish. I absolutely love how this cute video turned out and I hope you do too!

Who is the musician in your life?

Love the earrings! I took guitar lessons as a kid, but it didn't stick. I still have trouble getting my hands around the neck of the guitar. Instead, I'll stick to low brass 🙂

This is something I used to make a while back when I worked at an overnight summer camp. EVERYONE knew how to play the guitar, but we were always looking for ways to use the extra picks that would be scattered about – it probably helped that I taught crafts and was always looking for something new and fun for the kids to make!

Husband is the musician in my life, and my nephew. Nephew plays in a band too.
