It is no secret that I absolutely adore Harry Potter! When I started my No-Carve Pumpkin quest this year, I knew that it had to include Harry and Hedwig and they turn out even better than I imagined! They don’t have any extra pieces to break off on them, so simply spray them with a clear acrylic after you are done painting and they will last on your porch just like any other pumpkin. I don’t have step by step photos for these since I was making them live, but I have included the Youtube video below that should help answer any questions that you may have.

For Harry Potter You Will Need:
- A pumpkin
- Peach paint
- Red Paint
- Yellow Paint
- Green Paint
- White Paint
- Black Paint
First paint the front half of your large pumpkin in a peach color. Allow the peach to dry and then paint a large black zig zag around the top of the pumpkin, this will be Harry’s hair. Add the bottom of the pumpkin, paint Harry’s scarf with red and yellow squares interchanging.
Add the lighting bolt by the hair line and then paint his glasses on his face by painting two circles and a semi circle connecting them. Give him eyes and you are all done!

For Hedwig You Will Need:
- A small white pumpkin
- gray paint
- white paint
- yellow paint
- orange paint
- black paint
First paint a sharp widows peak on the front of the pumpkin in gray paint. Then add the yellow eyes under each side of the widows peak and the orange beak. Use gray and white to make feathers all over the pumpkin, I have found it is easy to fan out your paint brush and make short fast strokes. Let Hedwig dry and then add his pupils for a perfect owl friend.
