I realized this morning that is has been more than year since I tested a Pinterest pin and shared the results. This idea is a simple one, when you or your child have a medication that needs to be taken daily for a set number of days, you take a black marker and mark a box for all of the doses on the side of a bottle.
I had this pin in my back of my mind for a long time, but didn’t have the occasion to use it until just a couple of months ago when my daughter had an ear infection. I have to say it was an absolute life saver. I didn’t spend any time wondering if I had given her the medicine that morning or if I was just remembering giving it to her yesterday.
I made sure to keep a black marker right by the medicine bottle, to eliminate the temptation to skip marking off a dose thinking I would do it later. I wish I had known to do this a couple years ago when my daughter was really sick and required a medication that had to be taken four times a day. I was forever getting mixed up on whether or not she had the medicine already.
This pin is definitely a keeper, I haven’t done it when my husband and I needed to take medicine every day, but for my daughter it has been perfect.
What about you? Have you tried out this pin?
Great idea! When my kids are sick with a cold/fever I always have a paper with the fever temp and time I gave them meds. It's nice to have a record if we need to go into the doctor. With four kids (and four different dosages) it's also a must to make sure I don't give someone meds at the wrong time. I'm saving your idea for the next time we need antibiotics (I always seem to miss a dose)!
Such a smart idea! Pinned!
Such a smart idea. It's so easy to loose track of medication doses. This is a perfect way to keep track.
I love this idea. I've seen it before, but I haven't done it yet. Thanks for the reminder.
