I have a little artist in my house. She has colored on pretty much every surface that a pen will work on. She apparently got sick of getting in trouble for coloring on the walls, so she moved onto furniture. My microfiber rocker to be exact. I frantically looked up what would get the pen off. Here is what I tried and here is what worked.
Baby Wipes: Terrible. Didn’t even begin to touch the stains.
Hand Sanitizer: The perfect choice. It had the alcohol content I needed to get the pen off, but it didn’t run all of the place. It was easy to control and scrub just in the areas I needed to scrub. This is what I will use from now on.
Rubbing Alcohol: Worked very well. I felt like I had to saturate more of the ottoman than I wanted to because it was a straight up liquid. I liked the gel of the sanitizer better.
Seriously the sanitizer was amazing. My ottoman looks brand new. I think I have found my go to microfiber cleaner.

Never in a million years would I have imagined using hand sanitizer to get pen out of fabric. Genius!
This is also one of the reasons that we got a darker colored rocker… 🙂

Thank you for posting! I have a glider and ottoman just like yours and my son got marker on it the other day and I had no idea how to get it out. I am going to try the sanitizer and how it works! Thanks!

Good for you!! I'll pass that along to my daughter. I'm sure she'll need that in years to come (if not in the next five minutes). 🙂

I didn't even realize this needed to be cleaned. But then again, I don't really have any microfiber! Enjoyed your post from yesterday as well!
