Jurassic World Christmas

Nearly every kid goes through a dinosaur phase. It is completely understandable, dinosaurs are pretty rad. Both my younger daughter and my nephew are deep in their dinosaur phase right now. Since I find them chattering about dinosaur facts and information all the time, I set out to make this a magical Jurassic World holiday for both of them.

Jurassic World Christmas

It is no secret that Dinosaur toys are much cooler now than they were when I was a kid, these dinosaurs are huge! This Imaginext Jurassic Rex has glowing red eyes and can even chomp on unsuspecting cars! Imaginext was chosen as one of the top rated toys at Walmart and it isn’t hard to see why. These toys are amazing! I picked up these toys and everything to make these easy and fun Jurassic World crafts all at once at Walmart. Don’t have time to shop? Walmart 2-day shipping will let you shop quickly and have it delivered quickly!

Jurassic World Christmas

The first craft we made to decorate for our Jurassic World Christmas was these canning lid ornaments. So easy and the kids had a blast making them. It is a great way to use wrapping paper for a craft that shows off the paper.

Easy Canning Lid Ornaments

You will need:

  • Jurassic World wrapping paper from Walmart
  • canning jar lids and rings
  • glue
  • scissors
  • mod podge
  • foam brush
  • spray paint
  • pen
  • ribbon

Jurassic World Christmas

Remove your canning lids and rings from your jars and save them for another project.

Use your canning lid to trace your ornaments onto your wrapping paper and cut them out.

Add a thin line of glue to the top of your canning lid and then evenly spread it out using a foam brush. Place your wrapping paper on top of the canning lid and smooth it down. Allow this to dry and then the foam brush to coat the top with a thin layer of Mod Podge or another sealer.

Spray the canning rings a color that matches your ornament.

After your canning rings are dry, add a layer of hot glue around the inside of the ring and add your lid to the ring. Make a loop of ribbon and hot glue it to the inside of the canning ring. Hang on your tree! As easy as that!

Jurassic World ChristmasEasy Sticker Ornaments

You will need:
  • Jurassic World stickers from Walmart
  • flat ornaments
  • mod podge
  • fake snow
  • piece of paper (to use as a funnel)
  • foam brush

Jurassic World Christmas

Place a handful of fake snow in the center of a piece of paper and fold the paper to use it as a funnel to add the snow to the ornament.

Jurassic World Christmas

Replace the ornament cap and add your stickers all over the ornament. If you use plastic ornaments, this is a perfect activity for kids!

After you have all of the stickers where you want them on your ornament, use a foam brush to brush Mod Podge or another sealer over the stickers to keep them in place!

Allow your ornament to dry and add ribbon or a simple metal hanger to the top to hang it on your tree!

Jurassic World Stocking

You will need:

  • a plain stocking
  • black heat transfer
  • a way to cut the heat transfer
  • this logo

Right click on the Jurassic World dinosaur and save it to your computer. Upload it into your design software for your cutting machine. Find a good Jurassic World font, I used this one.
Cut the name and the logo out of black heat transfer! If you need more detailed instructions on how to do this, you can find them here. Make sure to mirror your heat transfer!

Iron the logo and the name onto your stocking, using a lower heat as to not to melt the type of fabric a stocking is. Apply 30 seconds of heat and pressure to all aspects of the logo and then gently peel back the plastic sheet. If the logo sticks, keep peeling if anything comes up add more pressure and heat to that area until it sticks when you pull up the plastic sheet.

Jurassic World Christmas

Add the ornaments to your tree and hang up the stocking so you can add all of the fun dinosaur toys! Here are some of the amazing toys we picked up for our daughter and nephew!

Jurassic World Christmas

Jurassic World Battle Damage Roarin’ Super Colossal Tyrannosaurus Rex Figure: This fantastic and HUGE toy is based on the Tyrannosaurus Rex from Jurassic World. When they say super colossal, they aren’t kidding, she is about three feet long and looks like she just came from battle! Her roars is amazing and she can even swallow and store up to 20 mini figures. Now THAT is a dinosaur!

Jurassic World Christmas

Jurassic World Battle Damage Triceratops: This dinosaur may be smaller but it is in no way less awesome. It has a spring-loaded damage panel feature  that snaps open on impact to reveal the battle wounds!

Jurassic World Christmas

Imaginext Jurassic World Jurassic Rex Dinosaur Play Set: With this set you can break the Jurassic Rex out of the holding base and then pop open her blindfolds to send her on a rampage! She has amazing chomping and lunging action, color changing eyes and a mouth that glows! Even Owen gets in on the action, with a turn of the power pad, the vehicle holding Owen races after the dinosaur!

My daughter is completely thrilled with her dinosaurs and I can’t wait for my nephew to open his when he gets here for Christmas! There is no way I am going to be able to wait for Christmas day! I am too excited!

Do you have a Jurassic World Lover in your house?
