Spring Garden Mantel

April 6, 2016 by Wifeeclectic 23 Comments

Since Easter was so early this year. I was left without something for my mantel in April. I wanted a spring theme but something that was very different than Easter. When I walked passed the dollar spot at Target the other day I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for. Between the dollar spot and the dollar store I was able to pull together a fun mantel full of garden elements.

The old window is something that I had one hand. They are a pretty hot item so check thrift store and antique shops and you are bound to come up with something. The Let Love Grow sign comes from the dollar spot and I hung it on the window with ribbon. The little planters are from the dollar spot. I filled the little planters with rocks and used the rocks to anchor fake succulents in them. I found fake succulents in both the dollar spot and at the dollar store. I found the ones from the dollar store were easier to work with because they came out of their vases easily.

The watering can and the green gloves were dollar spot finds. The trellis and fake lavender sprigs came from the dollar store.

I filled a basket with dollar store garden tools, gloves and seeds. I left the plastic tag on the gloves so that I could drape the gloves over the edge of the basket. I tried to do the same thing on the green gloves for the watering can but they came apart. I stapled them back together so that I could drape them over the watering can. It kept them together great and it can easily be removed if I want to use them later.

How do you decorate your mantel for spring?

I love this. I am all one for decorating around a season. I just did my own Spring entryway table and I had a garden watering can warmer from Scentsy that just makes it look even better.

The decoration is really representing Spring. It's lovely, and cute at the same time. Sometimes we need to be more creative in order to have a different style of something at home, like you did for your mantel. Really lovely!

My inner environmentalist loves this. It's perfect for Earth Day. I've never thought about how perfect it is to keep Easter stuff up for Earth day.

We don't have a mantle in our home, however we do have a small space heater. We typically add some decor for the Christmas season, but that's about it. Maybe we'll dress it up this season.

I love your mantle idea! I also love that you went with a gardening/ planting theme instead of something a little more typical. That makes it unique!
