This is the basic brownie recipe that I use when we are craving something sweet.
1/2 c. butter
2 T. oil
2 eggs
3/4 C. flour
1/2 C. Cocoa
1 C. Sugar
1 t. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
Melt butter on stove, then add the cocoa and oil. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and blend eggs one at a time. Add vanilla, then flour and nuts. Mix well. Spread in a greased 8×8 pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, cut into squares.
My Brownie Hints
You can add nuts to this recipe if you would like, but seriously why ruin your brownies like that? π
Try using egg beaters instead of eggs. They will make your brownies super fluffy.
Cut your brownies with a plastic knife. It works. Trust me. My MIL keeps a plastic knife if her kitchen just for brownie cutting.
Don’t eat the whole pan at once. It will give you a tummy ache. Trust me, I’ve done it, but that was pre-marriage when I still thought all men were stupid.
Enjoy!
You can never go wrong with homemade brownies! And, I agree, why ruin a perfectly good brownie with walnuts π I had to cut my brownies with a regular knife last time (couldn't find my plastic one) and they ended up to be little mushy piles π
Love Brownies.. too much!

Amazing Salvation
Okay, I can see that we have a couple problems here. 1)milk chocolate vs. dark chocolate and 2)nuts vs no nuts in brownies.
I'm gonna keep working on you. LOL
When one of our sons was about 12, he had a great microwave brownie recipe that only he knew. I'll have to see if I can draw it out of that great cavernous place between his ears. π
P.S. Your recipe looks great.
Ooh, yum. I love a good brownie. And I haven't met a brownie I didn't like. Are these more cakey or gooey or crusty brownies? I love them all… just sometimes I'm looking for a specific type π
Oh, and yeah.. NO NUTS! Yuck.
