I don’t think I have ever thrown away a ticket stub. I have stubs from the circus, MLB games, movies and more. About six years ago, I made my first Movie ticket shadow box. It was relatively small but the perfect place to hold all of my ticket stubs. I loved it and it sat on my dresser getting more and more stuffed with memories until I literally could not squeeze another ticket inside it. That is when I decided to create this larger shadow box for my wall, so we can continue collecting tickets for a long, long time.

The most difficult part of this project is drilling the top of the frame without breaking it. The best way to do this is to start with a small drill bit and slowly work your way bigger. It may work best to use an unpainted shadow box and then finish it afterward. I used a finished black frame and then touched up the paint.
Drill a hole in the top center of your frame. Slowly widen the hole by drilling right next to the hole. Once you have your hole large enough (Keep in mind some tickets are larger than others and you will want to make it wide enough for wristbands and such as well) smooth out the edges of the hole with sandpaper.
Assembly Instructions
- Cut a hole in the top of the shadowbox and then sand down the edges
- I this cute swirl Cricut library of images (Flourish #M416FE) and two fonts from Cricut, Font (Beach Bum) and Font (A Perfect Day), but you could also find one online that you like. Usually, I search for line drawings to help narrow down the images. To make things really easy, you can use my cut files found here.
- Resize your flourish to fit your frame. Type the words The Best Part of Making Memories and Is Making Them on separate lines using the beach bum font. Memories will be in the A Perfect Day font. Size all three lines to be 8.50 inches wide. This will make the word Memories as large as you need it. I resized my swirl to 9 inches tall. You can see the resize boxes above the text boxes in the image below.
- Place your words on the glass using transfer tape. Weed out the excess vinyl, cover your design with the tape, peel the design off with the tape. Place the tape/design where you want it on the board and then use a flat edge like a credit card to smooth the design into place. Then peel the tape off!
