I absolutely love popcorn. Add caramel, salt or chocolate and I am there. I don’t make a lot of popcorn recipes, simply because they all seem to have so many steps, except this one! This recipe is super easy and comes together in just a few minutes plus cooling time. It is delicious and I always want to eat the whole pan. The only thing that makes this recipe better is enjoying it with your kids inside a homemade fort!

White Chocolate Valentine’s Day Popcorn

 You will need:

  • 1 Bag of White Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Cup Yellow Cake Mix
  • Valentine’s Day Sprinkles
  • Homestyle Pop Secret Popcorn (You can find $1 off coupon on their Facebook page here)

Melt the chocolate chips in your microwave for one minute. Stir and then microwave the chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, stirring between each one until they are smooth.

Add 1/2 cup of cake mix and stir into the melted chocolate.

Add 1 bag of popped popcorn to the bowl and stir until it is evenly coated. Spread the popcorn out on parchment paper, sprinkle the entire pan with a liberal amount of sprinkles. Allow it to cool completely.

While you are waiting for your popcorn to cool, grab every pillow and blanket in your house to build an awesome fort. We have tall kitchen chairs, so we like to use them as the base of the fort. We put them all back to back and drape the blankets over top. We add a blanket to the ground to be the carpet and my 6-year-old love to put my flower pillows at the entrance to be the front flower beds. After the fort is finished, we climb inside with out big bowl of popcorn and a good book. Right now we are reading Nancy Drew together!

I generally eat popcorn when I am watching a movie–either out pr on TV!! Nothing like popcorn to make watching a scary movie even better!! This does sound like an interesting way to make popcorn-I may give it a try.
