Yogurt Berry Cones

Late last year I was diagnosed with a chronic condition. The condition while treatable requires a lot of lifestyle changes. It wasn’t too much of a problem until summer hit. The kids would beg for ice cream and I didn’t want to buy it because it was a temptation to me. My husband came up with this idea. They are absolutely amazing. They are every bit as satisfying as a ice cream cone and much much better for you.

You will need:
  • Waffle Cones
  • Berries
  • Strawberry Yogurt
  • a Spoon
In an effort to cut sugar, I tried these with plain yogurt. They are much better with strawberry yogurt. If you want added protein, make them with Greek yogurt!

Spoon some yogurt into the bottom of the cone. Add a layer of berries. We have used all different kinds of berries for these cones. My girls love them with blackberries. I prefer raspberries and strawberries. Add another layer of yogurt and then finish with berries on top.

My girls like their with a lot of berries and a little bit of yogurt and I like mine the other way around. These are so good!

What treats do you have a healthy version for?

Wow! Awesome idea to serve yogurt and fresh fruits! It's perfect for the summer and it's something that the kids will love. I think this will go nicely in waffle cones shaped as cups too!

This is a great idea for cutting out sugar, especially during the summer. I love that you can still enjoy a cone with your family this way.

I would have never thought to eat yogurt in this way. I am sooo doing this the next time I go to the farmer's market. I would probably use Greek yogurt.
