I love Valentine’s Day. My mom always went out of the way to make Valentines really special for each of us. I remember finding a little box of chocolates in my homemade lunch every year on Valentine’s Day. It always made the holiday so much fun, even if you didn’t get the day off school.
This is really the first year that my 5-year-old has cared about Valentines and I am so excited to bring out some of my favorite traditions. When I was a little kid, it was all about the elaborate Valentines boxes, and the store bought Valentines. Now it is all about the fun Valentines. This year, I was a little excited to finally get the chance to design my daughter’s Valentines that I went a little overboard and designed 10 different ones from her to pick from. I will be sharing each one of the next couple weeks complete with free printables, so you can use whichever ones you like.
Today’s Valentine is one of my favorites. It is a simple card that come six to a page and could easily be printed in black and white if you are trying to save your pennies. I found the hot pink glow sticks at my local Dollar Tree for 7 for $1. They had lots of different colors, but I thought pink worked for the holiday. Make sure to attach the bracelet connector piece to your glow sticks before taping them to the cards, so the kids can wear them if they want.
