1. Intermountain Connect Care (free, iOS/Android) – The Intermountain Connect Care app lets you visit a provider without ever leaving your home. These TeleHealth visits can be done from the app, or on your computer. It is open 24/7/365, so you don’t ever have to worry about that 2 AM fever. The providers are highly trained for virtual visits and can help with ear pain, sore throats, flu symptoms and more. And if your symptoms require more tests, the provider will arrange for an in-person office visit for no extra cost. Plus, in a world of expensive healthcare options, for $49 a visit, regardless of insurance, this is extremely valuable for moms. We love this app because our kids usually wake up in the middle of the night screaming from ear pain and we are able to get them into the doctor right away instead of waiting until morning. The Intermountain Connect Care service is only available in Utah or Idaho.
2. Feed Baby (free and paid versions, iOS/Android) – A fantastic app for newborns, this app lets you track how long a baby nurses, and on what side. You can also track bottle feedings and pumping times with the amounts. You can record your baby’s naps and diaper count. Alarm reminders can be set for pumping, nursing and diapers. You can write notes to yourself and record milestones as well. It also has a great reports function so you can see your baby’s trends and patterns. I don’t use this app usually after nursing is well established, but it is a life saver for those first few months.
3. Kinsa (free but you need the thermometer, iOS/Android) – Kinsa is a smart thermometer that plugs into your phone and used with the free app. It has a fast reading, with an accurate temperature, in 10 seconds. The part that makes this such a must-have app is that you can track your child’s temperature, symptoms and medications on your phone over the course of the illness, so you have accurate and up to date information to share with your doctor when it is necessary.
4. White Noise Baby (free, possibility of in-app purchases, iOS/Android) – This app is programmed with all sorts of different white noise, so you can find the perfect noise to help your baby fall asleep and stay asleep! It even has a fun rattle function for your little one when they are awake.
5. Day One 2 (free, iOS) – This is a darling journaling app that lets you organize your baby’s photos and milestones in one easy place, which is great because we all know that sweet little babe is going to be photographed a lot!
6. Cloud Baby Monitor ($3.99, iOS) – With this app, you can turn any phone or device into a baby monitor. You do need a second device, but you can use an iPod Touch or anything that can download an app. Download the app on your phone and the device, and leave the second device in the baby’s room, and bam! — you have a baby monitor with live sound and footage. If you are looking for something a little more high tech, we use a Myfox Camera that lets us see, hear, and talk to the baby through the camera, if needed. It is a little more pricey than just using an old device, but we really like it.
7. Intermountain Health Hub (free, iOS/Android) – This app has all of your medical needs in one place. You can find first aid information, look up your symptoms and even see what germs are prevalent in your area. You can also get in line at a local InstaCare (urgent care), saving you time.
What apps do you use for your kiddos?
If only there were apps when my babies were babies. There may have been apps for my youngest babes, but they weren't as prevalent. I remember jotting down times in a notebook. 😀

My boys aren't even that old and there was no such thing as an app when they were babies! Technology evolves so very quickly. I would have loved to have any of these in my back pocket.
I don't have babies or kids, but I know so many of my friends would LOVE this roundup. How cool is that thermometer app?!
No kids here, but I have a few friends that would really appreciate me forwarding this post so thanks! It's amazing huh, there seems to be an app for everything these days
I like the health hub app, would be super convenient to have all the info in one place.
Apps are everywhere how did we function without them? I think these apps are great resources for new moms…hopefully these will still be around when I become a new mom!
I use the baby white noise for my newborn photography sessions. My SIL used a nursing app when she was nursing her newborn.
I think feed baby sounds like the best app. I like that it tracks every little detail when feeding your child.
Awesome apps. I'm all for anything that makes mom life a little easier.
I've heard a lot of positive opinions on the Feed Baby app. This would've been a good thing to have when the twins were new and we were having to track feedings/diaperings times two!
Apps are everywhere these days. We are living at the greatest time in history
I can't imagine life with out these modern conveniences, and this is a great list…. Im going to share it with my next door neighbor who should be hearing the sound of pitter patter of little feet any day now… Thanks
Omg so many great apps!!! Wish they would have been around when my daughter was itty bitty!
