Gathered Felt Flowers

May 3, 2020 by Wifeeclectic 1 Comment

This beautiful gathered felt flower is one of my absolute favorite felt flowers. It is easy to put together, but it looks exquisite. With three simple supplies and the printable pattern,  you can make as many of these statement flowers are you want.

You will need:

  •  a sheet or two of felt in one color
  • hot glue
  • scissors
  • printable pattern at the end of this post

Step 1: Make your center. You do this by taking a strip that is about a half-inch wide and a couple of inches long and rolling it in on itself. After you glue the fold to itself, roll the rest of the strip around the fold to create your center.

Step 2:  Cut a medium-sized circle, an inch or two in diameter. This circle will be what you glue all of your petals to.

Step 3: Cut out the pattern at the end of this post and trace it or pin it onto your felt.

Step 4: Cut out your petals. You will need six petals to create this flower.

Step 5: After you have cut your petals, pinch the bottom of each petal and glue, like in the photo above. Glue the base of each petal (the folded part) to the bottom of your flower center. Then immediately fold the petals back before you glue the next petal on.

Step 6: Repeat for all of the petals.

Step 7:  Complete your flower any way you want, with a hair clip, pin, or headband glued to the back. You can add a pipe cleaner stem if you would rather make a bouquet.
