I always struggle to know what to fill my mantel with between Easter and the 4th of July. Do I let the red, white and blue sit for a long time? Or go with something else? This year I decided to pick a color and go with a theme all based around the color. I wanted to spend no more than $20 on the entire thing, so I hit my stash of items and the dollar store and this is what I came up with. You can pull the wreath and the vases together for less than $18.
Purple Spring Dollar Store Mantel
You will need:
- A Purple Deco Mesh Wreath- wreath form and 6 small rolls of deco mesh
- Two glass vases with fake flowers and white decoration rock
- Large glass containers
- Purple ribbon curls
Create the deco mesh wreath (instructions later in this post). I actually prefer working with Dollar store Deo Mesh because it isn’t as wide and perfect for creating a full wreath on a budget.

These vases are dollar store vases full of white decor rock from the craft section of the store. Each vase has four stems of fake flowers in them. Two tall sets and two shorter sets. I also picked up the cute butterfly candle holders from the dollar store as well. I pulled the birdcage and the glass jar from my stash but I wasn’t sure what to fill the jar with. Three large curly bows from the dollar store filled it nicely!

Pinch about three inches of the mesh into a loop and push it through the top opening in the wreath. Pinch another three-inch loop and push it through the second opening. Pinch a third three-inch loop and push it through the third opening.
Repeat the whole process, starting with the top opening again. Repeat until you finish the small roll. Then start over with a new roll. Fill in the entire wreath with the purple mesh.
