Frozen Cake
In the past three years I have thrown my daughter a Frozen Birthday, a Doctor Who Birthday and a Angry Birds birthday, but you won’t find any of them on the blog. Why? Here birthday is just a couple weeks before Christmas and I usually get so swept up in the holiday that I think I will post them after the new year and then I forget. Today I am going to start going back through all of the details and posting them because they are some of my absolute favorite parties. The ones I put so much sweat and tears into and yes, there were tears.
Today I am sharing my daughter’s Frozen cake. My daughter really wanted to help make her birthday cake this year, and so I went with a cake that she could easily help with and it was perfect.
For this cake you will need:
- a two layer cake baked and frosted
- white decorating sugar
- blue decorating sugar
- snowflake candies
- 7 blue sticks of rock candy
- an Elsa figure
You will want to apply the sprinkle before the last layer of frosting has had time to completely set. Take a handful of white sprinkles and press them against the side of the cake. Repeat all the way around. Line the outer edge of the cake with snowflakes and then sprinkle blue sugar in the middle.
All of the rock candy sticks I found had a large knob on the end of the stick, I broke this off of the sticks so that they would slide into the cake better. Form a semi circle with the candy sticks and then put Elsa in the middle.
The cake was absolutely perfect. My daughter loved that she got to help make it and it still had a ton of Frozen flair. The best part was when we cut it open and she realized it was blue cake inside. Such a fun touch!
Do you have a Frozen fan in your house?
